My Argument with Caitlin Johnstone
The closest I'll ever get to influence or a platform I suspect.

Nothing like hitting a nerve. Also called it, censorship is all she has.

~Personal notes: I don’t know what I expected. I know I’m right to the best of my ability, despite accusations to the contrary I’m not being emotional. If anything I’m muted thanks to autism. Sure stuff upsets me, but not this. I think it’s why I am how I am. Specifically what never upsets me is when my opponent totally lacks an argument and goes to attacks instead.
I get a kind of calm fatalism. I think it’s because i debated religion as a teenager so much, I’ve seen this literally 100 times at least. It was like a third way down the imaginary flowchart of potential discussion outcomes. In other words rather common, sadly it’s also a discussion ender. It happens when the mind is shutdown on one end. Typically it preceded bans and other tantrum like activity.
Emotion is a strange thing, putting it mildly.

Bull. The ONLY solution short of full revolt is a general strike but no one is willing to give up income to spare Palestinian babies from being roasted alive with white phosphorus. End of story, and all you do is talk and collect a check selling the illusion of being genuinely opposed to all your gainfully employed tax paying patrons. There will be no revolution, but there will be pay checks for collaborators. The illusion you sell helps as much as tax dollars. If you were saying anything dangerous your own fascist regime would freeze your stripe account. Seriously, your heart is in the right place but don't try to pitch me on the revolution illusion.

You are making two separate and unrelated claims here: (1) that people are currently unwilling to engage in revolutionary action like a general strike, and (2) that I make a living doing what I do. (1) is my whole entire point here, and is the problem this essay is attempting to address. (2) is just you making noises and doesn't require a response.

You're delusional if you think people will strike, that's why you don't have an answer. Again, if genocide, covid fascism, and housing being effectively outlawed won't do it, what will? The grand uprising has been just around the corner my whole life and now we're five feet from an ASI run global slave camp.
Again, all you're doing is selling the illusion of opposition. If you said something dangerous to empire they would freeze your assets.
All you ever have for me is brigading, censorship, and adhom. As it ever was.

No idea why you believe any of that constitutes a response to the words I said to you. This is not a space for you to masturbate your emotional misery. If you disagree with what I'm saying, make coherent arguments or be silent.

Such a talented a writer, and the best you have for me is ad hom. Telling. And "no u" won't work, I opened with my arguments, and you didn't address them at all beyond trying to shame me for making them and then going off on an unrelated tangent on how you don't think you're being paid enough.
You're literally furious at me for telling the truth, you're so used to being told that being paid for talking is doing something that when I tell you it's just talking you have to get crass and insulting and deeply character focused.
I'll happily stipulate to being the antichrist just to save time, but you're still not doing anything real even if I'm worse personally. (Tu quoque)
If you were honest about how culpable your paying readers are you'd lose them, and if you were effective at agitating for a general strike your accounts would be frozen on the grounds of being antisemitic.
I'm sorry these facts upset you but facts they remain. I guess it's lucky for you facts don't matter. I'm sure nothing substantive will change as a result of this exchange.
Go buy something for yourself, I'm sure it's been a hard day.

I addressed your "arguments" squarely and completely in my very first response to you. You have yet to respond intelligibly to anything I said in my reply. I don't know what you think "ad hom" means, or why you think it applies to what I am saying to you and not to what you have been saying to me. I have made no ad homs. You feeling insulted is not what an ad hom is.

Cool then you can copy paste your responses:
1. If you were honest about your tax paying funders being culpable you'd lose them.
2. Getting paid to convince tax payers they are doing something despite showing up for work on time is not helpful, i.e. Talk is cheap.
3. If you effectively agitated for a general strike the five eyes government you live under would freeze your accounts on grounds of being antisemitic/hate speech/etc.

1 is an assertion, not an argument, and is presented on no basis other than the assertive tone with which you present it. 2 is an assertion and an expression of opinion, not an argument. 3 is an assertion, not an argument. None of these require a response. If you ever feel like presenting any actual arguments presenting an actual case that anything you've said here is true, do let me know.

Oh but I thought you already answered >.>
1. You seriously need me to empirically prove that telling all your employed readers they are parties to genocide would evacuate your subscriber count? Whatever Cait, we both know that's crap.
2. You need me to explain opportunity cost? The damage done by a false solution? Again, you know better. Snake oil is not a cure. All the bank needs is business as usual.
3. You're in plain denial or lying to protect an income stream or both. Your government has made its crystal clear the lengths it will go to to silence voices it actually fears.
This is why you didn't reply before. You've got nothing. You were better off not replying at all. Now you've helped me prove you never had a point. You've spoken and removed all doubt :( I take no pleasure here, I'd rather be wrong because my predictions are grim.

Now you've moved from mistaking making assertions for making arguments to mistaking "empirical proof" for making arguments. I'm not going to explain basic argumentation to a grown adult. If you can't articulate coherent arguments then you're just emoting. You're just telling me how your feelings feel and saying you don't like me, and then asking me to chase you around trying to convince you to feel different feelings inside and think different thoughts about me. I'm not going to do that.
You've made it clear that you're just a very angry person, and you want to act out that anger on other people, and you want someone to attend to your anger. This isn't the place for that. Get a therapist.

Ok Cait. If you can't see how you're obviously the flailing hair splitting emotional one here no amount of text from me can make you. It's obvious to any objective third parties who's more insulting and upset. You're projecting, badly. You didn't respond to my arguments, beyond constantly calling me an insane child. /shrugs I guess we're done then, I tried. Like I said before, there would be no substantive change. I've seen you with your heels dug in before.
I don't mind being called names except when it's the only response offered. Maybe a fan of yours can try instead?

That's just some nonsense you made up in your imagination. Take care.
This is the same woman that very openly supported COVID tyranny during the rollouts of 2021.
We are all afraid to write comments that oppose status quos in the fear that someone will recognize us and make life more difficult that it already is. We have a duty to our family to stay alive, and compromising our life is not good for our tribe. Having said the above, the fact remains that thousands of children have ben killed while the whole of humanity stands by in absolute horror, or willful avoidance. No one in their right mind would dare to challenge the empire's tentacles unless no dependents were wanting to get fed, and housed. Even then, the risks are substantial, and real.
