My take in a nutshell?
The church of intellectual property law is the most harmful religion on earth apart from externalism itself.
Watching all these gold plated ultra smug translators happily ignore the fact that their code runs the global extortion machine for decades has been hard to endure.
Watching them finally fall into the logical hole they’ve been relentlessly digging… is not.
Now let me be clear. I can honestly say I don’t have torture based revenge fantasy. FMRI my brain, you won’t find any. I’m quite proud of this fact. I don’t want anyone, even the sadists, to hurt. I DO, however, want them brought down to median global income and status.
They were always just bankers with a different aesthetic. They wanted to rent out the vowels and print their own money. They don’t want to stop the exploitation, they want to become the exploiters. That was always true. That’s what techno feudalism and software licensing is at root. Trying to own the numbers and charge us rent for access to math.
While they are the first being replaced, make no mistake, we’re all on that chopping block. Our only hope is that the cleaver wakes up and takes our side, eventually.
